ACT-100® Features:

How ACT-100 protects against corrosion

ACT-100 combines two corrosion-control methods balanced for protection at minimum cost. First, the FRP composite cladding eliminates metal-to-soil contact: an abrasive-blasted steel surface (SSPC-SP6 modified commercial blast) receives a fiberglass-reinforced laminate applied to a 100-mil minimum thickness and spark-tested at 15,000 volts to confirm no holidays. Second, electrical isolation protects against stray-current corrosion: nylon dielectric bushings (Zytel 101) isolate threaded openings, flange isolation kits handle flanged connections, and every monitoring opening on a multi-wall tank is isolated. The finished tank passes a field spark test of 10,000 volts minimum.

The corrosion-control approach is the same; the coating chemistry differs.

The FRP laminate is applied to a minimum dry film thickness of 100 mils (2.54 mm) over the entire tank surface, verified with a non-destructive thickness gauge and spark-tested at 15,000 volts to confirm there are no holidays.

The double-wall design creates an interstitial space between the primary and secondary walls. That space is monitored continuously through an isolated interstitial monitoring pipe, so a breach in either wall is detected before product reaches the environment.

ACT-100 tanks carry a 10-year limited warranty with the registered purchase of the tank. An additional 20 years is available for an added fee when the tank is registered, for up to 30 years of coverage in total, backed by STI/STICO.
